In the winter, he wears loose pants and t-shirt, and occasionally a leather jacket if it’s cold enough (he doesn’t get cold easily).

Personality;
Personality; Felix is very opinionated and tends to have rather radical views. He is a nudist, atheist, feminist, pascifist, who believes in free sex and legalization of drugs. He believes in equality for all, regardless of race, gender, blood status, economic status, or anything else. He hates big business, has a lot of problems with the government, and thinks capitalism is stupid and despises the large wealth gap. He isn’t entirely sure where he stands on the ideal form of government and economy, but he rather likes communism, socialism, and anarchy. He doesn’t keep his opinions to himself, and tends to be very outspoken. It’s not a good idea to get him going on anything big that he disagrees with, because he could probably rant about it for hours. He’s actually got a way with words, and wouldn’t be bad at giving speeches about things he cares about.

Felix doesn’t believe in letting others determine your actions. He believes that being yourself is the road to happiness, not being liked. He couldn’t care less what others think of him, and wouldn’t want a friend who doesn’t accept him for who he is. He speaks his mind and always stands up for those in need. He wants to help people on a bigger scale, and wants to do something with politics one day. He doubts he could be elected, but he’d be just as happy (possibly more) organizing protests. He doesn’t just accept what he’s told, and thinks for himself, and believes you have to fight for change. He is very open-minded and always willing to debate and hear another’s perspective, though it is doubtful anyone will change his mind, and he will try to persuade others to his way of thinking. He is extremely honest, and doesn’t lie to spare someone’s feelings. However, he is capable of a great depth of feeling and cares greatly for his friends.

He is a pacifist who prefers not to fight. However, he will if it is required to help someone else. He lives by the motto: if it’s for yourself, walk away, but if it’s for someone else, stand up and fight. However, he will use any other methods at his disposal before he resorts to violence. And he certainly doesn’t approve of war unless there is a very, very good reason for it (such as stopping Voldemort). He’s very brave, and not scared of much. He thinks of others before himself.

Background;
Felix’s parents hadn’t been dating terribly long when his mother fell pregnant. The father ran off as soon as he heard that his girlfriend was due to have his child. Felix never met him, and his mother rarely talked about him. Felix doesn’t even know his name, and hasn’t asked. As far as he’s concerned, any man who didn’t want him as a son and wouldn’t even help his mother was not someone he wanted as a father. So he was raised by a young, single mother. She worked long hours to try and make enough for them to get by, as it wasn’t the best paying job. Therefore, Felix spent a lot of time with his grandparents, growing up.
Felix’s mother fell pregnant one more time, eight years after Felix was born. His sister was conceived on a one-night-stand, and his mother wasn’t even sure how to contact the father to tell him. So, again, she was forced to raise a child alone. But she did love children, so she chose to keep them. And she managed to get by, working long hours and with a lot of help from her parents. Felix also did his best to help look after his sister, whom he adored. Both kids spent a lot of time with their grandparents, from whom they got to know both the muggle and magical world (their grandmother was a muggle, and their grandfather from generations of wizards).

But then, a lot of bad things happened all at once. Felix’s grandparents died within a month of eachother, when he was 11. Unable to afford child-care, Felix’s mother was forced to work shorter hours so that she could look after her kids. She was soon fired for taking too much time off. Try as she might, she couldn’t find another job. The family went through a rough time. Their mother couldn’t work to make money, and they didn’t have a lot stored up to begin with. It was easier during the school year, when Felix was at Hogwarts and was provided with room and board for free. But his mother still had to move out of their small house and into a dingy, two-room apartment. She let the kids sleep on the one bed, and she slept on the run-down couch in the living room. Even then, she had trouble putting food on the table, and many nights they went hungry. When Felix was home for the summer, things were even worse, as she had to provide for both kids. Felix tried to find a job to help, but nobody seemed to be hiring.

Unbeknownst to Felix, his mother had been stealing food to help them get by. Not much – she’d just steal a loaf of bread from a big store. Just so that her children could eat supper once a while. Eventually, when Felix was home for break before his third year at Hogwarts, his mum was caught. She faced trial, where she was given a prison sentence. It was also determined that she was not fit to be a mother, and would not be able to regain custody of her children, once she was released. Felix and Jessica were to enter the system.

Felix was never really mad at his mum for what happened. He thought her actions completely justified. When society does not provide for you, or even provide you with a method to provide for yourself, then you do what you have to. And big corporations could spare a bit of food for the starving. Instead, he blamed the government. He was furious that they had broken up his family. They not only took away his mother, but they also took away his three-year-old sister. She was adopted almost as soon as they entered the system. Her parents let him visit her, but he doesn’t see her as often as he would like, and they’re no longer as close as they used to be.

Felix was thirteen when he entered the system, and just old enough for a half-way house. At first, he stayed at the orphanage with his sister. But, when she was adopted, he decided to move into the house. He didn’t need it during the school year, when he was at Hogwarts, but it is nice for the summer. He had a good room-mate who was a few years older, but she recently turned eighteen and moved out. He offered the spare space to Huian, one of the friends he made at school. He also lives right next to Lori, a friend from his old neighborhood. At school, he has several friends. Especially Lori, Huian, and Mason. So, all things considered, it could have turned out worse. He still manages to find happiness for himself. But he misses his family.

House your character feels they should be in:

Felix had given it serious contemplation, which house he would be in. He remembered his mother talking about them. He thought he probably fit Gryffindor or Slytherin best. Of course, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw were still possible, just less likely. After all, he would work as hard as necessary if he thought it important, and he certainly was loyal – though not to the point of stupidity. And he supposed he knew about politics and social justice, though he wasn’t really book smart.

But Slytherin and Gryffindor worked far better. Slytherin because he was ambitious. He wanted to change the world one day. He wasn’t sure how, but he wanted to make a real difference, to make people’s lives better. He wasn’t very cunning or very good at self-preservation, but the ambition might make up for that. And he was brave enough for Gryffindor, he thought. He never let fear stop him from doing what was important, for standing up for the people who needed help. But, Felix supposed, he could fit in any, really. And he would be happy, wherever he went.
